Who We Are
Helping Neighbors Outreach is an initiative of King of Kings Worship Center in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. We are a non-denominational Christian church that began in 1999 in Bernardsville.
In the early 2000’s we owned and operated the Port City Java cafe on Mine Brook Road across from the Bernardsville train station. Those years of serving and interacting with the Bernardsville community created a love for the people of Somerset Hills.
We created the Helping Neighbors Outreach as a food distribution arm of the church in conjunction with Feeding Hands Food Distribution in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
For Community
COVID-19 and the subsequent negative economic conditions have created a need for assistance among some of our neighbors. We receive food donations from the New York Community Food Bank, local grocery stores and farms, as well as donations from church members and general public.
“So which of these do you think was a neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?” And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him. “Go and do likewise.”
