Pastor Peter speaks from Ephesians, chapter 1:18-21: “…that you may know what is the hope to which He has called you, what are the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints; and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power in us who believe, according to the working of His great might…” (Passion translation)
God has given us access to His power, through the Holy Spirit, for a reason – so we can be freed from the grip of sin and destruction an so we can help others get free as well.
Topics covered in this message:
An Awesome God Testimony – Pastor Peter reads from an email he received about a woman who came to our church for prayer ministry and was healed of stage-four cancer.
Occupation or Evacuation – we must make up our minds whether we’ll live as an occupying force or our prayer to Jesus is to “hurry up and get us out of here.” We’ve chosen, as a body of believers to be an occupying force for the Kingdom of God.
All Things to All People to Win Some – We hear an expanded version of 1 Corinthians 9:19 from the Message translation that Paul said, “I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people… I didn’t take on their way of life – I kept my bearings in Christ — but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view.”
Jesus is Still Operating in Power - In Matthew 11:12 we read, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” We are an occupying force for God’s Kingdom in the earth and He has provided us the power we need to be “more than conquerors” (Romans 8:37)
The Power of the Age to Come – We have a down payment, through the Holy Spirit, of the God’s power to “deliver us from the present evil age.” (Galatians 1:3-4) Christians should be the most hope-filled people on the planet, because “where sin abounded, grace abounded much more!” (Romans 5:20).
