We have been partnering closely with the Feeding Hands Ministry in Raritan, NJ. We have begun a large-scale renovation of a barn in Basking Ridge to open a separate food pantry modeled on the Feeding Hands approach.
Hurricane Ida came through the Northeast on 9/1/2021 and left a trail of devastation. The Feeding Hands location in Raritan was flooded with more than five feet of water in their facility which has effectively wiped out all their food inventory and left them with no location to provide for their clients.
This tragedy has increased our sense of urgency to get the Basking Ridge facility operational, but we need financial donations in order to make this happen. Any amount will help. Please consider sowing a seed offering for this new food pantry location. Also, please note – we cannot yet receive food donations in Basking Ridge. Our efforts are focused on getting the barn renovated and receiving final approval from the town before we can receive food donations.
Between COVID-19 and Hurricane Ida, the underprivileged population in our region has received two devastating setbacks in a short period.
